知之所以不懼， 知之所以能助－－ The more we know about HIV/AIDS, the less we are afraid of it, and the more we know how to help those who need help. 艾滋不可怕，可怕是無知與偏見！！ We should not fear AIDS. We should fear the ignorance and intolerance that surrounds it!! 藉著全球防治日，請大家共同來了解、關懷、預防ＨＩＶ病毒的繼續感染和蔓延！ On this particular day of the year, please join hand with everyone to understand HIV infection, care about those who are afflicted and take action to prevent further infection of HIV virus that causes AIDS!

註 1.: 此論受到於2003年在舊金山市市立大學 (City College of San Francisco, S.F, CA) Dr. Toebe指導的“HIV生物學”課課堂討論內容所啟發，及參考近期關於中醫藥治療HIV/AIDS報導，經過近三年思索而成；不當之處，當就正於各　賢逹。 註 2.: HIV檢測陽性不等於AIDS!! 翻譯之不當所造成以訛傳訛的後果，竟連患者本身也不知覺地使用，變成了自己反貼自己標籤了！一般將HIV檢測陽性翻譯成“愛滋病”，但愛滋病應是AIDS的音譯；而分不清HIV感染離成為AIDS愛滋病還有其演變和發展過程，以及時間因素！正確翻譯宜為“人類免疫缺陷病毒”感染(Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection)。 註 3.:當然，若根據最新AIDS定義，若HIV檢測陽性的同時也罹患相關的卅十餘種病症（須詳查細目後，再予補充）中之任　種時，如ＰＣＰ肺囊蟲肺炎，女性子宫頸腫瘤等，則此檢測即成愛滋病AIDS，不是HIV檢測陽性了。 (待續)

之二：Continued: 在目前國內醫療環境下，我推論仍是遵照國外，尤其是美國的西醫治療方法為主；也有多少的患友投石問路、各方求索地試用各種可能的所謂"替代療法"，而吃盡苦頭，或延誤診治等等。我想藉由各種可能管道及朋友們，推廣對自我生命及醫療資源的正確態度和使用；若能同時增加自己診治ＨＩＶ／ＡＩＤＳ患友的機會，處理和提高對免疫缺乏疾患及其相關併發症的診治水準，才是自己要努力的目標。 I believe that under the present domestic medical environment in Taiwan, HIV treatment follows most of the methods from the West, and especially from the US. There are also people suffering from such conditions that they have no resources to obtain support or information. 我在花了近七年的學習後，於２００１年７月，取得中國成都中醫藥大學中醫醫學碩士學位(中醫各家學說專業)；回國後，一直有個理念：繼續研究運用中醫藥治療免疫缺陷疾患（如各種病毒性感染，癌症，自身免疫性疾病等）的目標；於是便在２００２年１２月底逕赴舊金山尋找再學習機會，並且在舊金山的"愛醫庇中醫藥診所（ＩＥＰ，Immune Enhancement Project, http://www.iepclinic.com/ )"擭得一份"中醫藥及針灸臨床及研究專員（TCM Clinical & Research Associate)"的工作，針對美國政府 Ryan White Fund 所提供的資助，主要提供ＨＩＶ／ＡＩＤＳ愛滋患友的中醫藥及針灸診治服務。直到２００６年三月回國為止近四年的時間，除了接觸有關ＨＩＶ方面最新的治療訊息外，更重要的是，接受了許許許多多舊金山市政府提供的針對性的訓練，如針對各種小眾族群（如LGBTQ族群）的特殊身心靈需求理解訓練等。所以，除了本身的中醫藥專業外，更對ＨＩＶ及其身心靈相關所衍生需求進一步了解。 I spent almost seven years of studying Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Chengdu University of TCM, Chengdu/Sichuan, China, and received the Master of Science of TCM Medicine degree in July, 2001.
